Taxation Issues

...the NSBA:

• has worked to have the School Boards exercise fiscal responsibility

• has pressured the City of Saskatoon to "hold the line" on property taxes each year

• has lobbied the Provincial government through the Independent Business Tax Review Committee for changes in the following areas:
  • Provincial Sales Taxes
  • Corporate Income Taxes

  • Corporate Capital Taxes.  

• Reasons for change:
  • Saskatchewan input costs affect the competitiveness of Saskatchewan based companies
  • Provincial sales taxes, capital taxes and property taxes all contribute to extra costs of doing business in Saskatchewan
  • A better business climate will increase jobs and opportunities in Saskatchewan.
    
     
• The Taxation Committee meets at the Call of the Chair
